Our Russian Marriage, September 18, 1999, Page 2:

Yeva getting ready...

Whenever honored guests arrive, they are freuqently given a some cermonial bread called "Karavai". It is often decorated with ornate designs and eaten with salt. There is a Russian tradition which says whoever gets the biggest piece of the wedding Karavai will be head of the house. Yeva and I got the same size pieces exactly!

A Russian table is always full of a variety of food and drink including vodka, sliced meats, fish, caviar and other goodies!
