I was born on Long Island, on Dec 1, 1964:
Grew up in Rochester, NY
(1965 - 1982, 1987):
Did my undergraduate work at Cornell
University (1982-1986):
Studied Agricultural Economics at Michigan
State University and got an M.S. (1987-1990):
Then I went to live in Taipei, Taiwan
from 1990 to 1992.
Its wonderful people, intact Chinese culture and beautiful mountain scenery, my
sentimental favorite.
On the down side, the weather varies between hot and humid and cold and damp; the architecture in the cities is a nightmare and the traffic and pollution are truly world-class in their awfulness. But, on the other side, there are the very active temples, some beautiful mountain scenery and GREAT FOOD. Now, after more than nine years away, I am now back.
After that, I returned to the USA in 1992 and lived near
Washington,
DC...
...and studied for a year at the University
of Southern California'a Washington Public Affairs Center for a Master's
in Public Administration and...
Worked at the Environmental Protection
Agency... (1993)
The House of Representatives...
(1994)
I lived in Russia
(1998-2001)
And returned to Taiwan (2001-2005)
